Repairs in San Salvador

While in San Salvador I had some work to do on the bike so I spent the first half of the day at the shop. I wanted to get the other three bolts for the rear rack enlarged to 8mm to hopefully prevent them from breaking. Mario has a motorcycle sales and repair shop but the mechanic that could tap threads was out so he sent me to another shop.

Got the bike in and Alfredo was working on it right away.

IMG_1454Alfredo did a great job and in under an hour had all three threads nicely done. While he was working on the threads, I cleaned the air filter, and changed the oil. Alfredo then checked the tire pressure and oiled the chain. I was in and out of the shop in a couple hours.

Once the new threads were tapped we got the rack back on and then put the aux tank back on.

All finished and ready to keep riding!

Mario came and met me, this time on his KTM 690 and he rode with me to the edge of the city and pointed the way south. It’s good to have friends through ADVRider who are so nice that they’ll help anyway they can. Thank you, Mario!

Thank you, Alfredo for the great service with a smile!
